Abstract

At some point while reading this round-up, your heart will break, your funny bone will be tickled and your ire will be raised. 1. When pop culture meets real-life…it ain’t pretty! Salt Lake Tribune: Motorist’s quip about ‘Grey Poupon’ met with cocked, black handgunA Sandy man took offense to a motorist, who, after getting him to roll down his window, asked, “Excuse me, sir, do you have any Grey Poupon?” After hearing the request for Dijon mustard, the 22-year-old driver pulled a black handgun from his glove compartment, cocked the weapon and pointed it at the three people in the other car. “Here’s your Grey Poupon, roll your [expletive] windows up,” he responded. 2. Hey, Russia! Leave them kids alone! Reason Magazine: Russia to Emo Kids: I’ll Give You Something to Pine AboutDriven to the brink of unhappiness by repeated listenings of “Sowing Season,” by Brand New, the members of Russia’s Duma are mulling over legislation to ban emo and gothic dress in public schools and government buildings. And the emo kids? Well, they’re not gonna take it: 3. Yeah…the impeachment hearing is just for show, to shut the rest of us up… Alex Jones' Prison Planet.com: Conyers Tries To Kill Impeachment Hearings Before They Start John Conyers is now taking the position that no one at Friday's impeachment hearing can accuse Bush or Cheney of any crime, or any impeachable offense, or dishonorable conduct, or even lying. Moreover, Conyers is now saying that he will shut the hearing down if anyone does accuse the boys of crimes, impeachable offenses, or otherwise being naughty. 4. If this story doesn’t make you cry then you are not human…Little man died the day after he got “married”… Perez Hilton: This Might Make You Cry… Reece Fleming was diagnosed with leukaemia back in 2004 when he was just 4 years old. He battled the disease for years until this May, when doctors gave the 8 year old boy only a few weeks to live. The family decided to try and help him achieve most of his goals before he would pass. And one of those was to marry his school sweetheart, Elleanor Purgslove. 5. Kid obviously just needed some fresh air and hot wings before the ‘rents showed up… Denton Record-Chronicle: Boy exits child care, goes to Hooters A 5-year-old boy slipped out of the Imagination Station child care center unnoticed Tuesday afternoon, crossed two busy streets and wandered to a restaurant on the Interstate 35E service road in 100-degree heat. Employees of Hooters found the child safe about 5:20 p.m. He left the child care center in the 2300 block of San Jacinto Boulevard, crossed the Interstate 35E northbound service road and Dallas Drive, bought a soft drink at a service station and walked to Hooters, where an employee found him in the parking lot and called police. 6. Word is the troops I hang with aren’t too keen on McCain. I don’t see this little tidbit gaining him any traction, either. Crooks and Liars: Time to start rationing veterans' healthcare? The Washington Monthly ran a terrific cover story a couple of years ago, heralding the success of the VA system, and the quality of the medical care veterans receive. McCain may hold some kind of ideological grudge against the VA system -- it is, after all, a form of socialized medicine -- but even raising the prospect of rationing veterans' health care seems like a remarkably bad idea. It's not good policy, and it's certainly not good politics. 7. That mortgage bill that the House just passed and the Senate is getting ready (OTCBB:GTRY) to vote ... [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
