Abstract

During the last 10 years results of kidney, liver and heart transplantation in childhood have steadily improved and are at least equal to those in adults. After renal transplantation five year patient and graft survivals of over 90 and 80%, respectively, can be achieved with FK 506, induction or triple therapy, and in all age groups [1,2]. The most common causes of graft loss are chronic rejection, acute rejection, recurrence of the basic disease, and technical problems [3]. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
