Abstract

The uniqueness of a fingerprint allows to build systems that can recognize personal fingerprint feature automatically. In practice, fingerprint recognition and classification based on two techniques: the reference point location and the Gabor filtering or the fingerprint ridge characteristics (called minutiae). In this paper a new method of the reference point alignment has been presented. A new approach of reference point localization is based on so-called identification filters, which have been composed on the basis of analysis of biometric characteristic of human fingerprint. In this paper construction of such filters has been precisely explained. Proposed method with other methods was compared. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
