Fingerprint Reference Point Detection Using Neighbourhood Influence Method.

The uniqueness of a fingerprint allows to build systems that can recognize personal fingerprint feature automatically. In practice, fingerprint recognition and classification based on two techniques: the reference point location and the Gabor filtering or the fingerprint ridge characteristics (called minutiae). In this paper a new method of the reference point alignment has been presented. A new approach of reference point localization is based on so-called identification filters, which have been composed on the basis of analysis of biometric characteristic of human fingerprint.
