Abstract

This paper deals with nonlinear free vibration of thermally postbuckled FGM plates. Temperature-dependent material properties are taken into account. The formulations are based on Reddy's higher order shear deformation plate theory and general von Kármán-type equation. The numerical illustrations concern vibration characteristics of thermally postbuckled FGM plates subjected to uniform temperature rise. Two types of FGM plates are considered and the effects of volume fraction index are studied. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
