Abstract

A description of the term Cockfield White Paper is presented. It refers to a White Paper by the British Commissioner for the Internal Market, Lord Cockfield, which put forwards a remedial programme to ensure the progress of freeing trade in the Common Market. The paper identified some 300 necessary measures and set the end of 1992 as the target date for completing the Single Market.
