Abstract

The article discusses the result of a study concerning B melanoma antigens (BAGE), a novel epigenetic biomarker for colon cancer detection. BAGE are a family of genes and truncated genes located in the heterochromatic regions of several human chromosomes. These markers could be used in association with hypermethylation markers to develop reliable diagnostic tests.
