Abstract
- This section offers news briefs related industrial safety. The district attorney of Stanislaus County, California alleges that Seneca Foods Corp. violated state law when it required a worker to clean up stacks of cardboard which were about to fall over. The AFL-CIO union argues that OSHA significantly undercounts workplace injuries in a report titled "Death on the Job: The Toll of Neglect." According to a recent NIOSH study, the rate of fatal workplace injuries among self-employed U.S. workers is twice the average for all workers.
