Chapter Four: The Nkrumah Years.

Chapter 4 of the book "Ghana: Recurrence and Change in the Post-Independence African State," is presented. It explores the political domination of Kwame Nkrumah in Ghana between 1948 and 1966 and its impact in the political history of Ghana. It examines the reasons why the Nkrumah government was mired in political problems in spite of the successes after the British colonization. It discusses the nature of the immediate post colonial state as inherited by Nkrumah and his Convention Peoples Part and its impact on Ghanaian politics.
