Abstract
- The article discusses the sculpture of Ken Price. The author traces his training from Santa Monica City College in Santa Monica, California, and the University of Southern California, in California, to the Otis Art Institute and the New York State College of Ceramics in Alfred, New York. Price has had two main phases in his career to date, the phase where most of his sculptures resembled eggs, followed by the phase where his sculptures resembled cups. In both phases Price used the sculptures as vehicles for exploring color and texture. Price continues to explore the interplay between color and form.
