Le Souci de Soi.

The article takes a look at the work of ceramic artist Paul Mathieu, and focuses mainly on his "Le Souci de Soi" (in English "The Care for the Self") exhibition. The author reflects on the provocative style Mathieu dislpays, on the figurative elements in his work, and on his continued use of various motifs. According to the author, though Mathieu's work may seem unpresentable or awkward at times, the pieces are in fact very demanding, dynamic and powerful, and seem to successfully group together the mediums of ceramics, sculpting, and painting all in one.
