Abstract
- The article provides information on the dreadful activities of pirate Blackbeard, alias Edward Teach, and his blockade of Charles Town, South Carolina, 290 years ago before 2008. It states that Blackbeard had blocked the Charleston Harbor, seizing merchant ships and capturing hostages for ransom. In the early 1718, gentleman pirate major Stede Bonnet had teamed up with Blackbeard's flotilla. Information on the activities of both pirates is offered, as well as the consequences of their did.
