Abstract

This article looks at the impact of television (TV) viewing on children. Too much TV in the early years means that kids are not getting on with the important business of being kids. The general consensus is one hour a day for primary school-aged kids, less for preschoolers. Some experts suggest that exposure to too much TV in the first years can have an adverse effect on brain development. However, educational program, playing and talking to others is far more important than watching TV.
