Abstract

The article offers information on sweet shrub, Calycanthus floridus. This shrub, a native of southeastern U.S., grows best moderately moist and acidic soil. Its maroon flowers has a fruity fragrance, while its leaves and stem release a spicy scent when crushed. Growing between 6-10 feet in height and width, this shrub can be used as a border.
