Abstract

The author discusses how the government of Great Britain will address the transport issues that stemmed from the success of the M1 motorway. He points out that success of the motorway led to a number of social changes, which in turn has led the country to deal with issues like road congestion. The author says road congestion is bad for motorists, for business and for the environment. He claims that the government should think of a solution that would improve journeys for road users.
