CHAPTER ONE: REVIEWING HISTORY: A PAPER TRANSFORMATION.

Chapter one of the book "Transforming Chinese American Literature: A Study of History, Sexuality and Ethnicity" is presented. It explores the history of Chinese immigration to America in which due to a devastating earthquake, grabbed the opportunity to forge themselves birth certificates stating that they were born in America and became paper citizens. It highlights the paper business of the Chinese immigrants which can be considered a strategy for success.
