Abstract

The article provides information on the use of electronic medical records (EMR) as a means of saving money and reducing medical errors. In the U.S., the adoption rate of EMR is reportedly very low due to the private control of the healthcare sector, lack of funding to develop software and poor image management tools, to name a few. Ophthalmologists and retinal physicians are using the Electronic Practice Management software to meet the accountability and compliance requirements of clinical charting.
