Abstract

The article provides information on GE19, an 84 metre span steel warren truss bridge in Brick Lane in the East End of London, England. The bridge is being erected by fabricator Fairfield Mabey on a site adjacent to the six national rail lines it must eventually cross. It is one of three new bridges being built by Balfour Beatty/ Carillion joint venture as part of its main works package on Transport for London's (TfL) East London Line project. GE19 will link the existing line from Whitechapel to the Kingsland Viaduct.
