Healing fostered by research.

The article focuses on the health research conducted within a provincial correctional centre for women which aims to help women participate in their recovery and improve their well-being and health. It involves the development of interdisciplinary community-based research team of academic researchers, health policy makers and women in the correctional system. The study resulted in individual and community empowerment and has also enhanced the health practices within the correctional centre.
