Abstract
- Chapter 12 of the book "Legacy to the World" is presented. It focuses on the jazz age, the period following World War I which was characterized by dominance by business and commerce, and relaxation of some of the more rigid standards of personal conduct. It highlights the political ideas in literature in the 1920s as well as the efforts of A. Philip Randolph, coeditor with Chandler Owen of "The Messenger," to help U.S. workers increase their bargaining power.
