Abstract
- The article discusses the key findings from the report "Estimating the Influence of Financial Aid on Student Retention," conducted by Serge Herzog, director of institutional analysis at the University of Nevada in Reno (UNR). The study indicates that students from higher-income families are more likely to persist in college when provided with grants or scholarships compared with their low-income peers who also receive such aid. Herzog also found that academic success had a greater role on retention for needier students than student aid.
