Abstract
- The article reports on the request by Sydney general practitioner (GP) on the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) to make the encryption of e-mailed patient information as a suggested option rather than a requirement of accreditation in Australia. The RACGP responded that encryption was important because e-mails could be defrauded by people searching for information to use for identification purposes. It is also stated that patient privacy was the paramount concern.
