Costain wins major waste plant contract.

The article reports on the selection of Costain as the preferred contractor for Europe's largest waste private finance initiative concession. A joint venture of John Laing and waste contractor Viridor has selected Costain to build the new waste facilities for the Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority. These will include five mechanical biological treatment plants, two materials recovery facilities, four in-vessel composting plants, five transfer loading stations and 17 waste recycling centres.
