Abstract

The article discusses the benefits of using WiMAX in municipalities in the U.S. It stresses that WiMAX is a better way to produce wireless cloud connectivity to an entire city using a few base stations. WiMAX networks require access points every two square miles for urban areas and one every six square miles for rural areas. It also adds that WiMAX can offer stronger signals and faster service than Wi-Fi. Despite of these benefits, some Wi-MAX critics point to the technology's higher cost
