Abstract
- The article discusses the initiative called Rwanda Initiative, a project on media capacity-building. It was first established in January 2006 through the partnership of School of Journalism and Communication at the National University of Rwanda and its counterpart at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. Its first activity was a visiting lecturer program, with Carleton University raising funds and recruiting veteran journalists and journalism educators coming from Canada. The project was developed that includes a media internship program bringing dozens of Canadian journalism students from Carleton to Rwanda to work with Rwandan media outlets.
