Abstract
- The article focuses on the art decoration on the Cappella di San Pietro and the Cappella di San Clemente at San Marco in Venice, Italy. The author states that the decorations on the chapels in San Marco were mostly contributions from Otto Demus and Bruno Bertoli. It also discusses the role of politics in the ecclesiastical activities in Venice during the twelfth century, and other concerns that explains the pairing of saints Peter and Clement in art. The author suggests that the mosaics of Saints Peter and Clements in the chapels of San Marco shows the influence of the Gregorian Reform Movement.
