Abstract
- The article presents information on the results of a study which investigated the degree of bone mineral density and content in women between the ages of 18 and 40 who had retired from competitive sports. They were compared to women who had never been athletes. It was found that bone mineral content was significantly higher in former competitive rowers, but not in former swimmers or practitioners of judo.
