Abstract

The article highlights the construction of the British Library Center for Conservation, an addition to the British Library building in London, England. It reveals that the design of the library was a great challenge to its architects for it features a high quality building and provides state-of-the-art facilities to meet the specific technical requirements of book, sound and paper conservation. The critical part on the construction was the requirement for a controlled internal environment.
