Abstract
- The article presents a study which investigates the potential of leather as an art material conducted by the thirteen graduate students of the Department of Art of Texas Tech University in Lubbock. The students explore the inherent qualities of leather through individual and group works. During the investigation, the research group found that leather can be used as a substitute for standard printmaking media and other printing process. Also, the students discovered that the leather's permanency and strength makes it a compatible material to combine with various yarns for creative weaving.
