Abstract

The article reports on the attribution of the Alfred Rusell's abstract painting called, La Rue De Nevers, in 1949 which depicts a model of discourse between abstraction and figuration. Rusell has used layers of plane geometry to develop the material reality into a body articulated by numerous and different parts of the painting. The painting has created a conceit of forces in motion whose metaphors yield up their full force as the sum of plastic means through a constructed space.
