Abstract
- This article discusses the nature of modernism by examining a business marketing campaign. The author focuses on book publishing in the nineteenth century and the British publisher Bodley Head, who published writer Oscar Wilde. The author states that modernism is sort of cultural product tied to capitalism that is concerned with innovation, a disdain for commercialism, and sold to a select audience.
