Abstract
- The article discusses the works of artist Frank Stella. It explores the three suites of Stella's lithographs, related to paintings called "Concentric Squares and Mitered Mazes," which are published in London, England by the Petersburg Press. It also illustrates the fourteen more prints he made based on "Moby Dick," in 1992. It relates to several prints collaged together from "Moby Dick" leftovers, combined with an enlarged pictorial vocabulary, they include rings blown in Stella's cigar smoke, crushed honeycomb aluminum, the curvaceous linearities of Canadian banknotes and patterns printed from a type of perforated plastic fencing.
