Abstract
- The article discusses a survey of speakers of California Indian languages. Two sources of information were used to determine the number of Native Indian language speakers in the state, one of which is a telephone survey conducted in July and August 1993 and another is the 1990 U.S. census. The researchers included conservative estimate, liberal estimate and 1990 census figure for the survey. Some of the Indian languages spoken in the state are Apache and Comanche.
