Abstract
- The article focuses on the need for major Australian political parties to confront issues concerning lawyers ahead of the federal election on November 24, 2007, according to the Law Council of Australia (LCA) and other legal bodies. The LCA underscored the need to boost legal aid funding, protection of client legal privilege and consideration of a Bill of Rights in its federal election position paper released in August. Law Institute of Victoria CEO Mike Brett Young cited the election issues concerning solicitors from law firms.
