Abstract
- The article discusses the highlights of the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts (ICFA) at the Airport Hilton in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in March 1999. Science fiction writers Elisabeth Vonarburg and Nalo Hopkinson were supplemented by academics in the horror field, including Bernadette Bosky, and Tony Magistrale. A paper was presented by writer Kim Selling, which reads the books "Always Coming Home" by Ursula K. Le Guin and "The Family Tree" by Sherri Tepper as fantasy ecotpias.
