Abstract
- The article discusses trends in high-quality audio formats. It cites the emergence of compact discs (CD) in 1982, as well as the advent of high resolution formats--namely DVD-Audio and SACD (Super Audio CD)--both of which offered superior sound to CD. It explores the advantages of SACD to opera listeners.
