A Back to Basics Approach to Improve Firefighter Safety.

The article discusses the advantage of applying a back-to-basics approach to firefighting training and tactics to improve fireground safety. Risks associated with firefighting may be decreased by identifying elements that lead to injury or death, particularly by taking an introspective view of how firefighters prepare and perform on the fireground. The 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiative were organized and produced by fire service leaders in the U.S. to help reduce injuries and death.
