Abstract

The article examines the history of the relationship between art and diplomacy on the Baroque allegorical drawing attributed to the artist Peter Strudel in Great Britain. According to the author, this history involves political context and considerations since it represents artistic challenge and enthusiastic response that were abandoned by political circumstances. In addition, the confirmation that the drawing belongs to Strudel is based on the comparison between the hand of the description and Strudel's autograph letters.
