Abstract
- The article profiles Erkki Kurenniemi, the Finnish pioneer and visionary of electronic musical instruments and media art. The role of Kurenniemi as a researcher and visionary is supported by his futuristic innovations and the views on modern technology and the future he has expressed in the Finnish media and his writings. His visions of the future, which have often been well ahead of their times, coexist with an avant-garde and bohemian attitude.
