Abstract
- Study data derive from site surveys, police officer questionnaires and incident logs. The environment influenced on-scene arrest by affecting how soon offenders were spotted, and by facilitating or hampering arrest after offenders had left the crime scene. Cover from vegetation and darkness, poor neighbour-target inter-visibility, better street lighting and rear access interacted with dwelling occupation to shape capture probabilities. Implications for crime prevention and policing are considered. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
