Abstract

The article presents a research on the factors that influence design decisions and their relationship to a college level art education by applying behavioral science. The research uses two techniques to address its objectives; personal interviews with 40 women in determining the frequency and reason of design decisions they use, and questionnaires given to 1000 women in determining the importance of the design decision usage. It suggests that the terms of the family and housing status are the factors that determines the importance on design decision. It also suggests that the tendency of women going to art studies and women going to home economics are possibly of self-selection.
