Abstract

Teaching survey methods can be a tough job. Experience from the United Kingdom shows that undergraduate students in particular are increasingly interested in qualitative methods and are put off survey methods by the mathematical element. Evidence from agencies interested in internet use suggests that more students than ever before are using the internet to learn for their degree. This paper will look at the ways in which students can be encouraged to look online for survey methods resources that are relevant and interesting to their work. After describing a number of UK based resources, the paper will then examine two ways in which these can be used in teaching, to find information about general surveys and to write questionnaires. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
