Abstract

This essay takes as point of departure the socially constructed character of both racial and sexual identities and categories. It proposes that the psychoanalytic study of race will not be properly carried out as long as race remains conceptualized as a feature of always already sexual bodies and identities. Following a discussion of the study of the relationship between race and sexuality, two literary works are explored in an effort to understand and describe racial desires that the author of the essay explains are organized in relation to what he calls the racialia of the body and the socially engineered preference for same-racial generation of erotic pleasure. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
