An interview with physician Richard Rahe is presented. When asked about his studies on patients' recovery from heart attack that led him further to stress and coronary heart diseases, he said that his research at the University of Washington attracted the interest of Ransom J. Arthur, M.D. and arranged him to be assigned to this facility where he was able to conduct studies of life changes and illness utilizing Navy populations. Meanwhile, his colleagues encouraged him to pursue his research.
