Revisiting the 'media wars' debate.

More than a decade has passed since the beginnings of the 'Media Wars' debate in Australia. This paper revisits the debate to determine whether there has been any significant shift in journalism research in Australia, especially in light of key changes in the Australian higher education environment. A content analysis of six leading Australian journals and a review of Australian Research Council grant applications provide a snapshot of trends in journalism research and research funding.
