Abstract

The article provides information from the report "2007 State Teacher Policy Yearbook," by the U.S. National Council on Teacher Quality. According to the report, states have set inflexible, outdated policies that hinder teacher quality. Commissioner of Education David Driscoll suggested that states must prioritize areas of reform. Arthur Wise, president of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, noted that some findings in the report could be misleading.
