Abstract

The article discusses the post-treatment outcomes of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) in women with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). It reveals that the failure rate of such treatment for HIV-seropositive was 46% and 33% for HIV-seronegative women. The authors explain that the failure of CIN treatment and recurrence of disease among immunocompromised women indicate that the success of therapy in HIV-seronegative women lies on competent immunity.
