The article reports that Sony Pictures film "Spider-Man 3" broke international box office records when it was launched in May 2007. The film got a total of $227 million at 16,700 playdates in 105 countries in six days. It set records in 26 foreign markets including Brazil, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia and South Korea. Japan, in which the film was launched to coincide with Golden Week festivities, delivered the top weekend figure of $26.5 million among foreign markets.
