Abstract

The article reports on a criticism regarding the usefulness of a U.S. Department of Technology-funded study intended to explore the correlation between technology and learning. The study is the government's first-ever evaluation of school software and is based on studies first conducted during the 2004-2005 school year. Critics believe that the delay in the publication of the study results could make it obsolete by the time they reach school decision makers. They also question the study's methodology wherein results will not be broken out by software program, but released in aggregate form.
