Abstract

The article presents information related to a research on reptile and arboreal marsupial responses to vegetation planting and remnant native vegetation in agricultural landscapes in southern Australia. Landscapes with varying amounts of remnant native vegetation were selected on which native vegetation was planted. Two farms that were selected for the research, out of which, only one had plantings. Arboreal marsupials and reptiles on all the four sites having four vegetation types were studied. According to researchers, landscapes and farms with fewer paddock trees and less woody debris had lower numbers of reptiles and arboreal marsupials, despite the areas having enough plantings. Therefore, it is evident that native clearing of vegetation has negative effects on several species.
