Abstract
- The article discusses the representation of women and medicine in medieval French narrative literature. The author explored how pharmacology appears to have had a special appeal for writers and storytellers in the French Middle Ages, appearing in works such as the Arthurian legend, the tale "Cligés," by Chrétien de Troyes and "Les Deus Amanz," by Marie de France. She noted the fact that it is usually women who make drugs in medieval stories.
